A zorb ball is made of two balls, with one ball inside the other and an air layer in between the two balls - it is this air layer that will protect the particpant when the roll is in motion. The majority of zorbs will have straps or velcro which is fastened around the body inside the inner layer to hold the rider in place - this is know as the Harness Zorb, while others leave the rider free to be thrown about by the rolling - water is usually added when the particpant is loose inside the ball and this is known as a Water Zorb or Aqua Zorb. The air between the two balls will protect the particpant during the ride and will also cushion and bumps on the ground. Some venues will put in "man-made" bumps or bends into their course to add to the excitement factor!
