Animal Meet & Greet Experience
Tickle a Tapir is a truly unique zoo experience! Take a trip back in time and meet a Tapir! These prehistoric looking creatures native to Brazil are friendly and inquisitive and love a tickle! This really is one of our more unusual experiences!
Your experience will begin in the Discovery Centre where you will receive complimentary refreshments before being met by one of the Animal Park team. You will then be escorted to the Brazilian Tapir enclosure for your health and safety briefing.
One of the Zoo Keepers will be on hand to assist you to feed the Tapir and to capture some wonderful photographs on your own camera for approximately 15 minutes.
The experience lasts for approximately 30 minutes, however you can arrive early and stay late to enjoy the many other attractions and animals.
You will receive a souvenir T-shirt and a presentation certificate to prove your incredible feat!
All of our gift experiences are presented in an attractive red case with "Congratulations - you are the lucky recipient of a Well Wicked experience day" written on the front. You will also get a DVD featuring many of our experiences. Experience vouchers can be personalised if required.
Duration
The Tickle a Tapir animal experience lasts approx 30 minutes but you are free to spend the whole day at this amazing zoo.

Restrictions
Minimum child age is 10 years old.
Spectators
Guests are welcome to join you and will pay normal admission prices. You are welcome to arrive early and stay late to enjoy the other attractions.
Availability
This animal experience is available daily throughout the year with the exception of Christmas Day. Experience starts at 2pm.
Disabled Access/Facilities
There is wheelchair access into the Tapir enclosure but there is a small step.
The zoo itself is well equipped for people using wheelchairs. There are disabled parking bays near to the entrance. Most of the site is on level ground with tarmac pathways in most areas. There are right and left hand transfer toilets in the main car park and wheelchair accessible toilets on the main restaurant and on the Animal Park. The zoo also has wheelchairs for hire. There is also a special needs playground with a wheelchair swing, swings with harnesses and rockers. The whole area has a soft crumb play surface.
Most of our animal experiences are suitable for wheelchairs but please let us know in advance if you are a wheelchair user.
