If you can’t decide between a flying experience, driving experience or a sightseeing experience, then this day is a combination of all three.
This Tigers and Tanks unusual experience day begins with a briefing in the control tower, then don a flight jacket, helmet and googles for a flying lesson in a genuine De Havilland Tiger Moth, the quintessential English biplane.
Back on solid ground, pose for a picture with the Tiger Moth, before hitting Duxford's military testing ground for a driving lesson in an armoured personnel carrier.
After a buffet lunch back at the tower, let someone else do the driving on a flight over Cambridge in a De Havilland Dragon Rapide, recreating the early years of passenger air travel and enjoying unrivalled views over the Fens and the city. Then get a short, private guided tour of Duxford's aircraft collection, including Spitfires, a B17 and the prototype Concorde.
You'll finish with a champagne toast and a certificate presentation. The experience includes entry to the superb Imperial War Museum at Duxford.
It's an excellent full day of thrills that you will find hard to forget. A fantastic flying and driving experience all in one!
All of our gift experiences are presented in an attractive red case with "Congratulations - you are the lucky recipient of a Well Wicked experience day" written on the front. You will also get a DVD featuring many of our experiences. Experience vouchers can be personalised if required.
The Tigers and Tanks experience days lasts approximately five and a half hours.
This flying and driving experience takes place in Cambridgeshire.
This experience is available from April to October, usually on the third Saturday of every month.
The minimum age is 16 years and the maximum weight is 18 stone.
Spectators are welcome and can get half price entry rates to the museum. Please note that all spectators have to enter the museum to watch you take off.
As well as being an airfield, this airfield houses a huge collection of historical aircraft, together with an impressive land warfare exhibition. The collection covers 85 acres and includes such gems as Concorde, the Lancaster, the Blackbird, the Spitfire, the B17 and hundreds more. This is a day out in itself so leave plenty of time to look around. Also included is entrance to the Imperial War Museum Duxford and discounted entrance to the museum for others with you.
