New Lamborghini 4x4

19 June 2012

The much rumoured and talked about Lamborghini SUV named The Urus, made it's premiere at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show. The Italian manufacturer Lamborghini, known for their exotic luxury cars, are looking to break into the prestigious end of the SUV market.

They're looking to compete with the likes of Porsche, BMW, Range Rover, Audi and other premium luxury marques for SUV market share, as well as fill demand for SUVs in markets like India, South America, the Middle East, Russia, USA and China.

It's rumoured that to buy one of them will set you back approx £150,000. It will not be in production until 2016.

The model is a successor to the hulking Lamborghini LM002. Urus’ bigger and older brother was somewhat affectionately nicknamed the ‘Rambo Lambo’ due to its enormous size when it first rolled off the production line in 1986.

The Urus measures in at 5.4 feet tall, 6.5 feet wide, and 16.4 feet long. Inside, the Urus is finished with a carbon fiber reinforced polymer, giving it a lightweight and futuristic look.

Power will come from either the new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 found in the Bentley Continental GT and Audi S6 and S7, or it may use another Bentley engine, the 6.0-litre W12.

It is rumoured to have 600bhp and a 0-62mph time of around four seconds.
